20 Oct 2020

HAPPENING NOW: The Senate will be voting on the coronavirus economic stimulus package. The bill, expected to pass, includes $350 billion for small business loans, $500 billion for airlines and other corporations hit hard by the pandemic, and $1,200 in direct payments to adults making less than $75k and couples making less than $150k annually, including an additional $500 for each child. The White House has also signaled it supports the bill, and it could go into effect within days. Democrats fought to include a clause barring any bailout money from going to Trump's own businesses, or businesses owned by any top government official.
